The Journey to Ancestors Cove
My personal family research began about twenty years ago when I was posed with what would come to be a pivotal question of what my hobby was. As a Registered Nurse, Mom and wife, my focus was centered around taking care of others and I actually got choked up realizing I did not have a hobby that was just for me. Curious about my ancestry, I started digging, got hooked and the rest is history (or should I say family history). Like so many of us, I wish I hadn't waited until it was too late to ask my closest family members about our lineage. However, having to start from scratch has given me a strong foundation of research experience over the years, including proving over 200 years of lineage from scratch for a new patriot to become a Daughter of the American Revolution. My persistence and passion have led to numerous successful discoveries, adventures and newly found relatives for me personally as well as and the countless people I've provided research for over the years. These long-lost ancestors now have names and stories to be told, treasured, passed on, and with a little luck, perhaps even a face captured in a photo.
My experience includes over twenty years researching vital records, land, probate, church records, federal and state census records across New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Florida. Plus wandering through an endless number of cemeteries over the years.
I hold a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University, membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution, Association of Professional Genealogists, Association of Professional Genealogists - New Jersey Chapter, Central Jersey Genealogical Club, Genealogical Society of New Jersey, National Genealogy Society, New York Genealogical & Biographical Society and I am a founding member and President of the Historical Society of South Amboy.
Academic Degrees: BSN (Nursing), MSJ (Jurisprudence/Seton Hall Law School)
With extensive corporate management experience, my business skills include strategic planning, organizational excellence and extensive project management expertise. I hold a certification in Quality Management/Organizational Excellence (CQM) from the American Society of Quality and a Black Belt certification in Lean Six-Sigma from Purdue University.
My collective, and eclectic, experience and background come together with a commitment to a reasonably exhaustive search with an ultimate goal of your enjoyment and satisfaction with my services. Each research request, like every person, is unique and no one can guarantee results.
I will, however, promise a diligent and comprehensive investigation with a summary of the efforts made along the way.
